Welcome to our website!
As the new Executive Director of The United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) I welcome you to our website. The USCMA, although it traces its roots from the Mission Secretariat in 1949, which later became the United States Catholic Mission Council, has been, in its present mode, an association of members, approved by the Annual Assembly of the Board of Directors in May 1981. I am enthused to step into 30 years of mission visioning and witnessing.
Over the years USCMA has been blessed with people and events that have truly enkindled our passion for God’s mission. We remember in a special way the thousands of missioners whose stories helped humanize the world we live in. Check out their stories in the “Faces of Mission” tab. Given the abiding and new polarities that exist in our world today, we missioners are called to respond to the issues brought about by exclusion and dislocation, fear and resignation, isolation and marginalization. As missioners, we are called to build a transformative global community with Christ as its centerpiece.
I hope that the information gathered and shared on this website will be a source and resource that can help ignite and sustain your fiery passion for God’s mission in our world. In this site, we shall keep you updated on important mission happenings, as well as, keep you attuned to mission trends in the U.S. Church.
I invite you to take a look and enjoy your visit with us.
In Christ’s mission,
John Nuelle, MS
Executive Director
