A Message from USCMA's Executive Director

Welcome to our website! 

The United States Catholic Mission Association (USCMA) became an association of members in 1981. Although it traces its roots from the Mission Secretariat in 1949, and which later on became the United States Catholic Mission Council, its present mode was approved by the Annual Assembly of the Board of Directors in May 1981.

Since then, USCMA has been blessed with people and events that have truly enkindled our passion for God’s mission. We remember in a special way the thousands of missioners whose stories helped humanize the world we live in. Given the abiding and new polarities that exist in our world today, we missioners are called to respond to the issues brought about by exclusion and dislocation, fear and resignation, isolation and marginalization. As missioners, we are called to build a transformative global community.

I hope that the information gathered and shared on this website will be a source and resource that can help ignite and sustain the fire of passion for God’s mission in our hearts. In this site, we shall keep you updated on important mission happenings, as well as, keep you attuned to mission trends in the U.S. Church.
