Events

The understanding of mission / evangelization in our Church embraces dialogue, community building and struggles for justice in all of life.

Efforts to model justice and faith in our lifestyles, activities and structures now challenge the missioner in addition to the teaching / preaching / witnessing role traditionally at the heart of mission activities.

The activities of USCMA support and strengthen missioners in the work of mission / evangelization.

USCMA CONFERENCES

    USCMA Annual Conference
The Annual USCMA Conference gathers members and those concerned about the cross-cultural and global mission of the Church. Opportunities for orientation, renewal, as well as updating on mission, scripture, theology and social analysis are provided through these annual gatherings.

    Lay Mission Forum
The 21st century will emphasize the participation and role of lay people in mission. USCMA continues its history of developing and supporting the relationship between lay and religious missioners.

    Event Registration
You can now register for USCMA events online.  MasterCard and VISA credit cards are accepted.  If you do not wish to pay by credit card, you should type directly into the .PDF event registration form (available on the registration form page) and either mail it or fax it to us with your check.

    Mission and Pizza
Several times during the year, missioners gather at the USCMA national office in Washington, DC to share pizza and fellowship while listening to a presentation on a timely mission topic. Often, the topic becomes the basis for the Periodic Paper included in the Mission Update.

CO-SPONSORED  CONFERENCES

    Mission Congress
This conference occurs every five years. The 2005 Mission Congress will be held in Tucson, Arizona

    Ecumenical Consultation   (CCCW)
Ecumenical mission activity is an essential element in the vision of USCMA in its response to academic and practical perspectives of mission and global solidarity. Basic to USCMA's ecumenical mission activity is a strong and ongoing relationship with Church World Service and Witness of the National Council of Churches of Christ. Recently, evangelical mission agencies have joined in this ecumenical mission dialogue.

Mission Institute   --  Chicago Center for Global Ministry
A nationally-attended two-day conference addressing the Church's mission and mandate is presented by CCGM.  USCMA is a sponsor of this event.  CCGM is an ecumenical venture of the Catholic Theological Union, Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago and McCormick Theological Seminary.
