USCMA has several resources and publications as part of our on-going effort to make Mission Education materials available to missioners, organizations, parishes, campus ministries, small faith-based communities, and the general public. You can view our resources below. Ordering instructions are included below the description of each item.

Study Guide for Use with the Aparecida Document ©2010

Since the beginning of his pontificate, Pope Francis has emphasized the Aparecida Document and the need for each of us to be missionary disciples. This Study Guide, a project of the United States Catholic Mission Association in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Chicago Office for Mission Education and Animation for the New Evangelization and the Missionary Society of St. Columban, is designed to help individuals, groups, parishes, and dioceses understand how we are all called to be missioners through our Baptism and how, by living as missionary disciples, we share in the New Evangelization through the example of our lives. The Study Guide was written by Sr. Madge Karecki, SSJ-TOSF, with a Spanish translation provided by Fr. Ramon Caluza, CICM.

You can order your copy of the Study Guide (bilingual edition) today either by making a donation of $20.00 per copy through our donation page, indicating the number of Study Guides you wish to purchase or by sending us an email.

US Catholic Mission Handbook: 2010 Edition ©2010

The US Catholic Mission Handbook: 2010 Edition presents the results of 2010 Mission Survey of US Catholic mission-sending organizations. Data was solicited on missioners serving both beyond US borders, as well as those doing mission within the United States. This book includes several Periodic Papers from USCMA conferences in addition to the survey data within the Mission Handbook.

This handbook contains information regarding the thousands of missioners from all over the world who continue to accompany the people in their journey. This survey only presents information on US Catholic missioners, but they are mirrors of thousands more from all over the world who have heard and responded to the call to participate in God’s mission.

The tabulation in the US Catholic Mission Handbook is inclusive of Catholic missioners – lay, religious and clergy – who are US citizens, serving in mission both within and outside the borders of the United States. While there are hundreds of thousands of short-term missioners (those who are in mission for less than one year), our survey currently only includes missioners who are in mission for a minimum of one year.

Gathering the Fragments: A Survey of Components for the Formation of International Lay Missioners ©2002

This is a survey of International Lay Missioner Formation Programs that documents their commitment to preparing lay missioners for mission service. USCMA, Catholic Volunteer Network, and The Saint Vincent Pallotti Center collaboratively conducted the survey and compiled the report which provides valuable references and suggestions for anyone interested in lay missioner formation. As Sr. Amy M. Hoey, RSM, Former Lay Ministry Project Coordinator at the USCCB, writes in the forward, Gathering the Fragments is a, "very helpful resource for those that are responsible for sponsoring or directing lay mission work.  It is also evidence that the preparation of lay missioners is being addressed seriously, in accordance with canon 231 of the Code of Canon Law.'"

You can order your copy of Gathering the Fragments today either making a donation of $10.00 ($7.50 for members) per copy through our donation page and indicating the number of copies you wish to purchase or by sending us an email.
